Max Scheidereit

Max Scheidereit (born July 4, 1899 in Gerhartzwalde , East Prussia , † December 18, 1967 ) was a German trade unionist and politician of the KPD .

Scheidereit was a metal worker and had been a member of the German metal workers' association since 1919 . Since 1920 he was a member of the KPD. Between 1923 and 1926 he attended the free community college. Scheidereit was a member of the works council from 1927 to 1933. During this time he was also a member of the KPD's district leadership for the Ruhr area .

During the Nazi era , Scheidereit was imprisoned in the Esterwegen , Papenburg , Oranienburg and Sachsenhausen concentration camps.

After 1945 he was a member of IG Metall and chairman of the works council. From 1946 Scheidereit was chairman of the IG Metall administration office in Bochum and a member of the main board for the British zone of occupation .

Scheidereit was a member of the Appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for the KPD in 1946 and 1947 . Since December 3, 1948, he was a successor member of the first elected state parliament .
