Libby Ludlow (born August 26, 1981 in Bellevue , Washington ) is a former American ski racer .

biography

Libby Ludlow was primarily specialized in the fast downhill and Super-G disciplines, but also competed in the giant slalom . Her first race in the World Cup was the Super-G on December 4, 1998 at Mammoth Mountain . Her career was marked by several injuries, so it took a long time until she was able to secure a permanent place in the World Cup. At first she was mainly used in the North America Cup, where she was also able to ride at the top. In 2004 she became the US champion in giant slalom ahead of Julia Mancuso .

Ludlow achieved her first World Cup points in November 2002 with 29th place at the Super-G in Aspen . It was placed three times in the top 10 and a total of 45 times in the top 30. She achieved her best result in January 2006 in Bad Kleinkirchheim with seventh place in the Super-G.

Libby Ludlow took part in the 2003 World Championships in St. Moritz and the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin . At the 2007 World Cup in Åre she came ninth in the Super-G.

In May 2008, Ludlow announced her retirement from ski racing.
