Liborius Diederich Post

Liborius Diederich (von) Post (born June 11, 1737 in Bremen, † October 7, 1822 in Bremen) was a lawyer , archivist , Bremen senator and Bremen mayor .

biography

Post was the son of the first Bremen archivist Hermann Post (1693–1762) and the mayor's daughter Rebecka nee. from Line. His brother was the archivist and Syndicus Simon Hermann Post (1724-1808). He was married to Anna Wahls, daughter of Senator Albert Wahls (1715–1787); both had four children including Senator Albert Hermann von Post (1777-1850).

After high school he studied from 1755 jurisprudence at the University of Duisburg of the University of Utrecht and the University of Göttingen . He obtained his doctorate in 1761. jur. at the University of Duisburg. Like his father, he was an archivist in the Bremen service from 1763 to 1768.

In 1776 he became a senator in Bremen (councilor). From December 10, 1802 to September 16, 1808 he was mayor of Bremen .
