Simon Hermann Post (born September 20, 1724 in Bremen ; † April 12, 1808 in Bremen) was a German lawyer , Bremer Syndicus and archivist .

biography

Post was the son of the first Bremen archivist Hermann Post (1693–1762) and the mayor's daughter Rebecka nee. from Line. His brother was the archivist, Bremen senator and Bremen mayor Liborius Diederich Post (1737-1822).

After high school he studied from about 1745 law . He obtained his doctorate in 1750. jur. at the University of Helmstedt . From 1753 to 1763 he was, like his father, an archivist in the service of Bremen, and from 1762 he was director of the Bremen archive . In 1763 he became Syndicus primarius and director of the council chancellery in Bremen. He was on several occasions in the diplomatic service for Bremen.

The Simon-Hermann-Post-Weg in Bremen- Oberneuland was named after him.
