Libreria Bozzi
Libreria Bozzi is the oldest bookstore in Italy . It was founded in Genoa in 1810 by the French Jew and revolutionist Antonio Beuf .
He came to Italy beforehand in 1907 with his brother from the Briançon community . In 1927 the bookstore was sold to Alberto Colombo, father of Mario Bozzi’s first wife. In 1930 ownership passed. During the Second World War , the shop was damaged by Allied bombs. The current managing director is Bozzi's son, Toni Bozzi.
Well-known visitors to the bookstore were u. a. Stendhal , Eugenio Montale , Alessandro Manzoni , Sandro Pertini , Charles Dickens , Henry James , Luigi Pirandello and Herman Melville .
