Licosa is an Italian coastal town in the Cilento with about 40 inhabitants. It is a district of the municipality of Castellabate in the province of Salerno ( Campania ). Since 1991 the place has been part of the National Park Cilento and Vallo di Diano and part of the Costiera Cilentana .

The place is at 20  m slm , the zip code is 84048 and the area code is (+39) 0974. The demonym for the inhabitants is Leucosini .

history

There are traces of a large Roman settlement on the island of Leukosia. Leukosia is a ledge that is bordered by the islet of the same name. It can be reached on foot from the north via the port of San Marco.

geography

Licosa consists of the Monte Licosa of the same name (326 m slm) and the offshore island of Punta Licosa . The place is between Ogliastro Marina and San Marco . From the port of San Marco a path leads to Punta Licosa, which you can continue via the village of Ogliastro to the "Cancello alla Torre di Ogliastro". The Monte Licosa can also be reached via San Marco.
