The television program liebe sünde was broadcast weekly from 1993 to 2000, initially on the VOX channel and then on ProSieben . The program was moderated one after the other by Matthias Frings , Andrea Thilo and Mo Asumang and dealt almost exclusively with topics of sexuality .

The format was first broadcast on January 28, 1993 on the then new station VOX. The initial aim was to compete with the public broadcasters in the information sector and to develop broadcast formats that are characterized by an unusually high level. With the focus on sexuality, the broadcaster covered an area that had been largely neglected by the public broadcasters up to this point. The concept of an information channel at a high level failed, among other things for cost reasons, VOX went to the Bertelsmann / RTL group, and the production liebe sünde switched to ProSieben , where it was broadcast from July 6, 1994. Under the new leadership, VOX developed a successor program called Wa (h) re Liebe .

Matthias Frings was the first producer and presenter of liebe sünde and also switched to ProSieben, where he presented the erotic show until 1995. He was followed by Andrea Thilo and, from 1997, Mo Asumang. In 1995, Alexandra Montag and Beate Wolgast were listed as subsequent producers.

From June 3, 1999, the format appeared in a new format. ProSieben discontinued the format at the end of 2000.

Was produced love sin originally in Cologne by the resident production company mea culpa. After mea culpas moved to Berlin at the end of 1998, Brainpool acquired all shares in mea culpa and continued production. The original mea culpa shareholders, including Matthias Frings, left the company with the change of ownership.
