Andrea Thilo (born November 8, 1966 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German film producer , presenter and journalist.

Andrea Thilo completed her studies in social and business communication at the Berlin University of the Arts . At the same time, she worked as an assistant director for radio features at Sender Freies Berlin and set up the art consulting agency Kunst Konzept together with three gallery owners from Berlin and New York, which she also runs.

In 1992 Andrea Thilo began a traineeship in radio and television at Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg. She then worked as a permanent reporter and editor at NDR for current ARD formats such as DAS! , Evening news , evening news and morning show . In 1995 she took over the moderation and editorial management of the weekly program Liebe Sünde for Pro7 from Matthias Frings and led the journalistic format on sexuality to a high level of acceptance - in the features section as well as among the German television audience. At the same time, Andrea Thilo gained international experience as a reporter for the British European magazine The E-Files from BBC One .

Since 1998 she has worked as a freelance journalist and presenter for television, radio features and weekly newspapers. Andrea Thilo also moderates a variety of events, including major charity events and award ceremonies. A scholarship from the German Marshall Fund took her to the United States in 1999.

In the same year Andrea Thilo founds the production company Boomtown Media in Berlin with her partners Thomas Grube and Uwe Dierks . She was nominated for the German Television Award in 2000 for the company's first production, Warsaw Express . In 2005 she received the German Film Prize as the producer of the hit film Rhythm Is It! .
