The Liga Futebol Amadora (LFA) was the national league association of the East Timorese football league from 2015 to 2020 . She organized the leagues and cup championships. President of the LFA was Nilton Gusmão dos Santos all along .

history

The LFA was founded in 2015 to incorporate a new two-tier league system in East Timor. The new leagues replaced the previously existing Super League . At the 1st LFA Congress on August 15, 2020, it was decided to convert the LFA into the League Futebol Timor-Leste (LFTL).

construction

Overall, the two leagues passed, most recently a third division was under discussion. Eight teams played in the first division , 13 teams play in the second division . The players were all amateurs.

In the 2016 season, the games were played in the state capital Dili in the Estádio Municipal de Dili . In 2017 the venues were Baucau and Maliana .

Qualification for the third division (Terceira Divisão) started on November 5, 2019 . The COVID-19 pandemic prevented a start of the 3 leagues as well as a season of the other leagues.
