Mount Griffiths is a mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . In the Napier Mountains it rises 8 km northwest of the Wilkinson Peaks . Its two peaks reach heights of 1650 m and 1680 m respectively .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it Mefjell (Norwegian for Mittelberg ), mapped it using aerial photographs taken as part of the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The Norwegian name today bears a mountain in Queen Maud Land . A sled team of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions visited the mountain described here in 1961. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named it after George Samuel Griffiths (1847 – unknown), from 1886 a member of the Australian Antarctic Exploration Committee founded at the time .
