Ligamentum carpi radiatum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ligamentum carpi radiatum is a ligament on the palm side of the wrist . It arises on the head bone ( os capitatum ) and connects this in a fan shape with the adjacent carpal bones , namely with the hook bone , with the scaphoid bone , with the triangular bone and with the two polygonal bones . The ligament forms the floor of the carpal tunnel with these bones .

In the four-footed mammals arise from the ligamentum carpi radiatum the interdigital muscles . In horses , a support ligament ( ligamentum accessorium ) arises from it , which connects to the deep flexor tendon in the middle of the pastern .
