NGC 6117 (also NGC 6117A ) is a 13.8 mag bright spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Northern Crown . It is estimated to be 390 million light years from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter. Together with the non-NGC object PGC 57822 (also NGC 6117B ), it forms an optical pair of galaxies.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6119 , NGC 6120 , NGC 6122 , NGC 6126 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on July 5, 1864 .
