NGC 6115 is an open star cluster of the Trumpler type I2p in the constellation Winkelmess . It was discovered on July 8, 1834 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, who noted "a part of the milky way, so immensely rich as to be one cast cluster of clusters". It is now believed that James Dunlop first discovered the object on June 26, 1826.
