Markus Paulmichl

Markus Paulmichl (born November 10, 1958 in Laas , South Tyrol ) was appointed board member and director of the Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Paracelsus Medical Private University (PMU) in Salzburg on October 1, 2007 .

Life

Markus Paulmichl was born in the municipality of Laas in Vinschgau as the son of a general practitioner. He and his two younger brothers decided to study medicine in Innsbruck (1977–1983), where he was employed at the Innsbruck Medical University in his third year of study. After receiving his doctorate , he worked in the United States at the Mayo Clinic , Minnesota. He then spent another seven years in Innsbruck, after which he worked for seven years in Milan . In 1985 he received his specialist in physiology and exercise physiology in Bologna . During these years he also taught as a Harvard visiting professor and was appointed to the PMU in 2007. In his spare time he pursues various hobbies such as painting, sculpture and hunting.
