Kyrylo Shownir ( Ukrainian Кирило Жовнір ; born March 7, 1997 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian ice hockey player who has played in the Ukrainian ice hockey league at HK Donbass Donetsk since 2017 .

Career

Kyrylo Shownir started his career with HK Kremenchuk . When the war in eastern Ukraine made orderly play impossible, he went to the United States in 2014 and played there with Colorado Evolution in the Western States Hockey League, a regional junior league. For the short season 2015 he returned to Kremenchuk and played there until 2016 in the Ukrainian ice hockey league . After a year with HK Generals Kiev , he has been under contract with HK Donbass Donetsk since 2017 , with whom he became Ukrainian champion in 2018 .

International

Shownir first represented his home country in December 2015 at the U20 World Cup 2016 in Division I. In April 2016, he also took part in the Men's World Cup 2016 in Division I. He and his team were promoted from the B to the A group in Division I. He also played in Division I at the 2018 World Cup .
