NGC 6111 is a 14.2 mag bright elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 430 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years across. In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1210 and IC 1212 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on May 31, 1887 .
