NGC 6089 is a 14.1 mag bright lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0-a in the constellation Northern Crown and about 435 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on May 28, 1791 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, S, R, comparbM".
NGC 6089 has a small and compact galaxy as a faint companion (called NCGC 6089-2 , Hubble type "C", apparent magnitude 14.5 mag, apparent size 0.3 ′ × 0.3 ′).
