NGC 6116 is a 14.3  mag bright spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Corona Borealis in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 400 million light years from the Milky Way and about 260,000 light years in diameter. In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6109 , NGC 6110 , NGC 6112 , NGC 6114 .

The object was discovered on July 10, 1880 by Édouard Stephan .
