Lilian Watson (born September 17, 1857 in Harrow , † May 27, 1918 in Berkswell , West Midlands ) was an English tennis player .

Life

Watson was the daughter of a vicar . She played in the first women's competition of the Wimbledon Championships in 1884 and reached the final, in which she met her younger sister Maud , and finally had to admit defeat 8: 6, 3: 6, and 2: 6. Lilian Watson also competed at Wimbledon in the following two years. In 1885 she was eliminated in the first round, the following year she had to admit defeat in the semifinals to eventual winner Blanche Bingley . In 1885 she won doubles at the Irish Championships at the side of her sister Maud .

She died on May 27, 1918 at the age of 60.
