The ship was ordered by Stena Line in 1979 as the fourth in a series of four structurally identical ships. After various problems with the shipyard , Stena Line canceled the construction in 1986, which should have started up as Stena Baltica . Parts of the ship under construction were dismantled and various pieces of equipment and machine parts were sold.
In 1989 the shell of the ship was sold to Regency Cruises in Greece. Regency Cruises wanted to convert the ship into a cruise ship. After some work on the ship, the still unfinished ship was launched in June 1990 and the ship was renamed Regent Sky . In 1991 the ship was towed to Greece, where it was to be completed by the Avlis shipyard in Perama. In 1994 it was extended. After Regency Cruises had ceased operations in 1995, the approximately 60 percent completed ship was taken over by the National Bank of Greece in late 1996 . In 1999 the shell was sold to Sea Nomad Maritime Inc. In December 2007 the ship was sold to Jay Management Co., who wanted to bring the ship into service as Zoe , in October 2008 it was renamed for it. In July 2011, it was finally scrapped in a Turkish scrap yard .
