Lilit Pipojan ( Armenian Լիլիթ Պիպոյանի ; born June 16, 1955 in Yerevan , Armenian SSR ) is an Armenian singer , composer and architect .

Lilit Pipojan belongs to the narrow circle of contemporary Armenian artists whose work represents a special path to traditional folk music , to classical, sacred and popular music of their country. Growing up in a Yerevan family of artists, she first graduated from the Spendiarjan Music School. Then she studied architecture and obtained a doctorate in theory and history of Armenian architecture.

Pipojan's compositions are based on Armenian poems and folk motifs. She appreciates medieval secular song lyrics, which she arranges in a modern way and which she provides with new, but Armenian-influenced melodies when the original ones have not survived.

She also writes music based on modern Armenian poetry. Pipojan has recorded three CDs, and concert tours have taken her to Switzerland, Syria and the United States. She lives in Yerevan with her husband and two children.
