Lilja Rafney Magnúsdóttir

Lilja Rafney Magnúsdóttir (born June 24, 1957 in what was then the rural community of Suðureyri ) is an Icelandic politician ( left-green movement ).

Lilja Rafney was born on the farm Staður in Súgandafjörður , which at that time belonged to the rural municipality of Suðureyri ( Suðureyrarhreppur ). She was an employee of the swimming pool and sports hall of Suðureyri. From 1988 to 2004 she was the chairwoman of the Workers 'and Seafarers' Association in Súgandafjörður. From 1990 to 1994 Lilja Rafney was head of the Suðureyri municipal council. Since 2000 she has been on the board of the Icelandic Post Office .

Since 2009 she has been a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the Northwestern constituency . As of 2014 she belongs to the parliamentary committees for commercial affairs (since 2011) and welfare (since 2013). From 2009 to 2013 she was Vice-Chair of the Icelandic Delegation to the West Nordic Council .
