Liljana Nikolaewa Dimitrova ( Bulgarian Лиляна Николова Димитрова ; born July 17, 1918 in Istanbul , † June 27, 1944 in Plovdiv ) was a Bulgarian activist. She also operated under the pseudonym Blaga .

Life

Dimitrova studied law at Sofia University and became a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party in 1939 . She became politically active at the university and went illegally in 1941. She was arrested in 1942, but managed to escape from custody. From 1942 to 1944 she was a member of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Workers' Youth Association . In 1944 she led the association's actions in southern Bulgaria. She died in an armed conflict with the police.

Honors

On March 25, 1951, a 1 lev - "anti-fascist" - postage stamp with a circulation of 150,000 was issued in Bulgaria  , on which it is shown together with Jordanka Tschankowa , Alexander Dimitrov and Adalbert Antonow , who also belong to the youth association . A monument was erected for them in the Bulgarian city of Shumen .
