The small beach Lilac ( Limonium minimum ) is a plant from the genus of the beach Lilac ( Limonium ) in the family of plumbaginaceae (Plumbaginaceae).

features

The small sea lavender is an evergreen subshrub that reaches heights of 3 to 14 centimeters. The leaves are single-nerved, rolled back and measure 0.8 to 1 × 0.2 to 0.3 centimeters. The inflorescence branches are smooth. The spikelets are one to four-flowered. The crown is purple. None of the bracts of the spikelets is translucent, only the edge is sometimes translucent.

The flowering period extends from July to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The sea lavender occurs in southeastern France on limestone cliffs on the coast.

use

The sea lavender is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens and alpine houses .
