Limonium sitiacum is a species of the genus of the beach Lilac ( Limonium ) in the family of plumbaginaceae (Plumbaginaceae).

features

Limonium sitiacum is a perennial shrub reached, the growth heights of 10 to 16 centimeters. The stem is light green, rough, erect and papilose. The leaves are fleshy, narrowly elongated to spatulate and blunt to broadly trimmed. They measure 15 to 20 (30) × 5 to 7 millimeters.

The ears are 10 to 60 millimeters in size, loose and have 2 to 3 one to two-flowered spikelets per centimeter . The inner supporting sheet is 8 to 9 millimeters in size. The calyx is 8 to 9 millimeters in size, narrowly tubular and greenish in color at the base. The crown is purple.

The flowering time is in May.

Occurrence

Limonium sitiacum occurs on the northeast coast of Crete and on a small island near Kasos . The species grows on limestone rocks and steep cliffs at altitudes from 0 to 180 meters.
