Lina Mangiacapre (actually Carmela Mangiacapre ; * 1946 in Naples ; † May 23, 2002 ibid) was an Italian artist .

Life

Mangiacapre studied philosophy and worked as a journalist (editor of the three times a year “Manifesta”), author, musician and painter (as such she drew with Màlina ). In 1970 she founded the feminist literature group Nemesiache in Naples and six years later initiated the “Cinema delle Donne” in Sorrento . In 1987 she created the “Elvira Notari” film prize, which is awarded at the Venice Film Festival and has been named after her since 2003. Her three films, in which she took on all important functions, were made independently of the Italian film industry and were shown in municipal cinemas and at festivals.
