Linda Christanell

Linda Christanell (* 1939 in Vienna ) is an Austrian artist.

Life

Linda Christanell studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Until 1974 she was a teacher for visual education, from 1975 freelance in various artistic fields ( installations , performances , book and photo objects, etc.).

From 1966 she gave numerous exhibitions and received awards at home and abroad.

In 1987 she was a member of the jury for the West German Short Film Festival in Oberhausen. In 1993 she followed a teaching position at the Zurich Film School.

Christanell was a member of the Austria Filmmakers Cooperative (1982), the Künstlerhaus (1982) and the Graz Authors' Assembly (1984) and a founding member of Intakt (1977). In 2015 she received the City of Vienna Prize for Fine Arts .
