Linda Knowles

Linda Knowles ( Linda Yvonne Knowles, married Hedmark; born April 28, 1946 ) is a former British high jumper who later started for Sweden .

In 1962 she won bronze at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade and was fourth for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she was eliminated from qualification. In 1967 she won silver at the European Indoor Games in Prague and at the Universiade .

After her marriage to the decathlete Lennart Hedmark , she came in at the EM in 1971 in Helsinki as the representative of Sweden in 23rd place.

Once she was English champion in outdoors (1967) and twice in the hall (1963, 1967). In 1970 and 1971 she was Swedish champion in high jump and in 1973 in pentathlon . In the hall she won the Swedish championship title in 1969, 1970 and 1971 and the Norwegian championship title in 1970.

She set her personal best of 1.83 m on July 4, 1971 in Gimo .
