Lindenau is an impact crater to the south of the front of the moon , southwest of Mare Nectaris , southwest of Piccolomini crater and northeast of Rabbi Levi . The crater is only slightly eroded and has concentric structures inside.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after German astronomer Bernhard von Lindenau .
