The linden gall mite ( Eriophyes tiliae ) is a species of mite from the gall mite family (Eriophyidae).

The linden gall mite leads to numerous, long, slender, 8–15 mm high, upwardly narrowed and pointed nail galls on leaves. The bile is green or bright red in color. Its opening is on the underside of the leaf and is surrounded by small white hairs.
Similar species
distribution and habitat
Eriophyes tiliae occurs frequently in Europe and often in large quantities on summer linden ( Tilia platyphyllos ) and at the cross between summer and winter linden , the Dutch lime ( Tilia × europaea ). They appear from May / June and although they lead to significant changes on the leaves, they do not affect the growth of the trees.
