The linden family (Tilioideae) are considered a subfamily of the mallow family (Malvaceae). The Tilioideae were earlier than "Tiliaceae" in the rank of a family. They include three genera and about 50 species. They are mostly found in the temperate to subtropical areas of the northern hemisphere .

Systematics

In the subfamily of the linden family (Tilioideae) there are three genera with 39 to 50 species:

  • Craigia W.W.Sm. & WEEvans : There are roughly two species in China and northern Vietnam:
    • Craigia kwangsiensis H.H.Hsue : She's coming or occurred in the northwestern Guangxi. The species may already be extinct.
    • Craigia yunnanensis W.W.Sm. & WEEvans : It occurs in western Guangxi (Jingxi, Napo), southern Guizhou (Dushan), southeastern Xizang (Mêdog), southeastern and western Yunnan (Malipo, Ruili, Xichou) and also in northern Vietnam.
  • Mortoniodendron Standl. & Steyerm. : The approximately nine species occur in Central America .
  • Linden ( Tilia L. ): The 20 to 40 species thrive mainly in temperate to subtropical areas.
