The residential building Lindenstraße 22 is located in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) in the Am Wasserturm district .
The building was built in 1925/1926. It was entered under No. L 034 on December 7, 1994 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
architecture
The building is part of a building complex of five rental houses on the ring road around the water tower and extending into Viersener Straße. Corner development divided into two building sections under voluminous mansard roofs with protruding eaves . Façade designs in each different shape.
The actual corner wing has three storeys and is accentuated in the center by a stepped gable on the side facing the water tower . With regular rows of windows (four-axis), those on the ground floor are large, those of the gable and that of the dormer on the right . The arcade-like pointed arched window formed; those on the upper floors are uniformly rectangular with a flat plaster frame and sills. The window is designed in the same way, but with smaller dimensions, and the three-axis facade facing Lindenstrasse is axially symmetrical.
The central entrance axis is emphasized by just protruding from the wall surface. Staggered staircase windows of decreasing height illuminate the staircase. The right and left flanking rectangular windows correspond to those on the other street front. The roof break through three uniform dormers. A two-story, three-axis building section adjoins the three- story structure on the left. Simple window structure and rectangular design analogous to the side facing the water tower. In the roof area, again, three dormers.
