Linnermühle in Krailling

The Linnermühle in Krailling , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg , was built in 1892. The former grain mill , still owned by the Linner family today, at Margarethenstrasse 55 is a protected monument .

description

The three-storey gable roof building was built using parts of the previous mill on the site of the abandoned Hofmarkschloss Krailling . The building is divided into a residential and a mill section.

The mill, which was preserved with technical equipment and was in operation until 1975, includes two wooden paddle mill wheels and weirs . The Mühlkanal , which is fed by the Würm , is still preserved and is used to generate electricity. Today the building is used for weddings, concerts and other cultural events and the mill operation is demonstrated on special occasions.

In 2010 Augustin Linner received the Medal for the Protection of Monuments of the Free State of Bavaria for the exemplary renovation of the monument.
