Lionel Medeiros (born April 14, 1977 in Orléans ) is a former Portuguese football player .
The defender belonged to the French club US Orléans until 1998 . Then he went to Varzim SC in Portugal. With the club he rose to the Primeira Liga in 2001 . From 2002 to 2006 he was under contract with Vitória Guimarães and in the 2006/07 season with Académica de Coimbra . In 2007 he moved to Cyprus. First he spent a year with Omonia Nicosia and then with APOP Kinyras Peyias . In October 2008 he was tested positive for oxymesterone during a doping control and was banned for one year.
