Lisa Lougheed
Lisa Lougheed (* 1969 in Etobicoke , Canada ) is a Canadian singer and voice actress who celebrated her greatest success with the theme song "Run With Us" from the animated series " The Raccoons ".
Biography and work
After training as a dancer at the Etobicoke High School of Arts and appearing in variety shows and as a singer in a cover band , Lisa Lougheed first drew attention to herself through her work as a voice actress on the television show "Vid Kids".
She celebrated her greatest success as a singer at the age of 17 with the New Wave title "Run With Us", composed by Kevin Gillis , the closing song of the cartoon series "The Raccoons". In her home country she was in the charts for a few weeks with the piece, which was covered by the synth-pop band Spray in 2004 . Together with Kevin Gillis, she released the series' soundtrack with "Evergreen Nights" in 1988 , which earned her a Juno Awards nomination as the most promising young singer in the same year . In the cartoon series "The Raccoons" she also took over the voice of Lisa Raccoon from the 40th episode . In 2011 the song was included in the soundtrack for the credits of the film Hobo with a Shotgun with Rutger Hauer.
In 1992 she released her first own album "World Love" with Warner Music Canada , which can be assigned to the musical style of rhythm and blues . In the same year she was nominated for two more Juno Awards (for "World Love" and "Love Vibe") and a Canadian Music Video Award (for "Love Vibe"). After the release of her second album "Peace & Harmony" a year later, she only appeared in public as a background singer for R. Kelly and Celine Dion .
