Lise Carol Getoor (* in Seattle ) is an American computer scientist.

Lise Getoor is the daughter of the mathematician Ronald Getoor . She studied computer science at the University of California, Santa Barbara , with a bachelor's degree in 1986, at the University of California, Berkeley , with a master's degree in 1989 and became a research assistant at Stanford University in 2001 (where she was a research assistant from 1995) Daphne Koller is doing her doctorate in computer science (Learning Statistical Models from Relational Data). From 1989 to 1992 she was a software engineer at Aion Corporation and from 1992 to 1995 at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View. In 2001 she became an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, College Park , an associate professor in 2008 and a professor in 2013. Since 2013 she has been a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz (where she was previously visiting professor) and adjunct professor at the University of Maryland.

It deals with machine learning (Statistical relational learning, SRL), deductions under uncertainty, databases and artificial intelligence . She also deals with analysis of social networks and information integration .

She is a Fellow of the AAAI and on its Executive Council, and has been the Fellw of the Association for Computing Machinery since 2019 .
