Company and brand history

In 1945, Alfred Lienhard founded a workshop in Herisau (Appenzell Ausserrhoden) for the production of simple tubular steel devices, garden furniture and cloakroom lockers. In 1951 the company with 45 employees moved to Erlen in the canton of Thurgau. He specialized in the manufacture of drawer cabinets. Over the course of the decades, the company grew from a specialist in drawer cabinets to an internationally active manufacturer of operating and storage equipment from 1970 under the management of Alfred "Fredy" Lienhard.

After Alfred Lienhard's death in 1970, the company passed to his son Alfred "Fredy" A. Lienhard. In the 1970s, office furniture was added as a second mainstay. This area was expanded in 1995 with the takeover of Denz AG founded by Albert Denz. In 1980 the “Lista” brand (for Li enhard Sta hl) , which has been in use since 1953, became the company name. In 1995 Lista expanded the office furniture division with a majority stake in the Swiss company Denz.

As part of the succession plan in 2004, the Lista Group was divided into the two areas of office furniture systems (today Lista Office Group) and operating and storage facilities (today Lista Holding ). In 2006 Lienhard sold the majority of the business and storage facilities to the Swiss holding company Capvis and to the management, but remains an important minority shareholder.

The office furniture systems division, which remained in the possession of the Lienhard family, with Lista Office and Denz, was organized under the umbrella of the newly created Lienhard Office Group AG. This was further expanded with the retrospective takeover of InterOffice Holding AG at the beginning of 2008. The newly founded Lienhard Office Group comprised the independently operating companies Lista Office, Denz and InterOffice. After more than 44 years, Fredy Lienhard handed over his mandate as Chairman of the Board of Directors to Erwin Stoller in 2014. He was supported by Franziska Lienhard Nava as Vice President. The merger of the Lista Office and Denz brands took place in 2016. The Denz brand was withdrawn from the market. The Denz brand products are continued in the company's own production plants under the Lista Office LO brand.

In 2017 the Lienhard Office Group was renamed the Lista Office Group. In 2019 the company was sold to the Zhejiang Henglin Chair Industry .
