The main characteristic features of the monument are as follows: The warrior memorial erected by the municipality of Oedt in 1929 to honor those who fell in the First World War was demolished in 1967 and rebuilt in 2002. The monument made of shell limestone rises on a two-tier polygonal base. Another polygonal central column is flanked by four seated lion figures, on which a (not restored) bronze baldarch once sat. The boyish figure of Saint Vitus, the patron saint of the Oedter parish church, kneels on the pillar. On the front of the column shaft, the inscription "1914-1918 Unseren Gefallenen- Die Gemeinde Oedt" is slightly raised with the municipality's coat of arms. The other pages contain the names of the fallen. At the transition to the Vitus figure there are small iron crosses above.
