According to J. Deilmann, the water-fortified Dorenburg is a former knight's seat, which is first mentioned in 1326 when Johann von Pleis was enfeoffed with it.
The former three-wing complex from around 1630, the history of which can be traced back to the 14th century, today only consists of an angular building, 2-storey in 8: 4 axes, a courtyard wall with a gate entrance (date in Torkeilstein 1705). The entire complex has a gable roof and is plastered. On the western tail gable, the anchor pins indicate the year 1630. Condition: good. Use: Museum with outdoor area. |

The Oedt train station, An der Kleinbahn 8, district Oedt, corridor 17, parcels 891, 892, is placed under protection in accordance with Section 3 (2) DSchG NRW and listed as a monument no 653-01 / Oe 23 "Bahnhof Oedt" entered in the list of monuments of the municipality of Grefrath.
The main characteristic features of the monument are as follows: The one to two-storey station building on the former Kempen – Süchteln railway line, dating from 1869/72, consists of two gable tracts, between which a narrow eaves tract is stretched a little back. Arched windows and doors, mostly drawn together in groups of three, open the wall. The single-storey eastern extension with a ramp dates from the early 20th century. On the eaves-standing building there are wider, segment-arched windows, divided into small sprouts. Relatively flat pitched gable roofs cover the respective parts of the building. |

The road-side, closed design without projections and recesses or staggering is characteristic of the type of settlement in the street village of Oedt. Due to the historical significance of the former "Streit" house, which clearly shows the interesting shape of the Oedt core area as a street village with closed buildings on both sides in eaves position, as well as the small-town architectural form of the 18th and 19th centuries. The warrior memorial in Grefrath, district Oedt, Kirchplatz, district Oedt, corridor 10, parcel 438 is placed under protection for artistic and local historical reasons in accordance with Section 3 (2) DSchG NRW and is listed as monument no. 653-01 / Oe 24 "Warrior Memorial" entered in the list of monuments of the municipality of Grefrath.
The main characteristic features of the monument are as follows: The warrior memorial erected by the municipality of Oedt in 1929 to honor those who fell in the First World War was demolished in 1967 and rebuilt in 2002. The monument made of shell limestone rises on a two-tier polygonal base. Another polygonal central column is flanked by four seated lion figures, on which a (not restored) bronze baldarch once sat. The boyish figure of Saint Vitus, the patron saint of the Oedter parish church, kneels on the pillar. On the front of the column shaft, the inscription "1914-1918 Unseren Gefallenen- Die Gemeinde Oedt" is slightly raised with the municipality's coat of arms. The other pages contain the names of the fallen. At the transition to the Vitus figure there are small iron crosses above. The name of the artist Eugen Senge-Platten is inscribed on the base of one of the lions. |

Observation tower: built in 1970, consisting of 4 corner posts made of IPE 300 steel, up to 27.73 m high, each with 4 m cantilevered side platforms, the upper one 20.78 m high. The lowest platform covers a toilet facility with approx. 150 m².
Platforms in steel construction as a cantilever arm with inserted wooden beam ceilings with upper wooden floorboards, parapet railings in steel construction with curtain-type trapezoidal sheets, staircases in wooden construction. The stripping of the tower construction is done by cross-wise round steel bars z. T. fixed as a spatial diagonal in the intersection points by cube-shaped node elements. Between the upper end pieces of the load-bearing steel supports there is an emblem as a stylized person in a surrounding vertical wreath of flowers. |
