Residential stable house with half-timbered barn | Heyen Am Ertekamp 7 a card |
The farm complex Am Ertekamp 7 A is part of a small settlement that extends on the edge of a valley open to the Elmpter Bach valley and thus corresponds to an old type of settlement typical of the landscape. It consists of a former stable house and a barn in front of the stable gable; this arrangement is also typical of the area's courtyards that were built before the 19th century, but is no longer often preserved. The current appearance of the stable house is determined by a renovation in the late 19th / early 20th century. On the gable sides, however, it can be clearly seen that at that time an 18th century house was extended by raising the eaves side. The window and door openings of this previous construction phase are preserved or at least still recognizable in the gable ends. The interior is determined by a stud work that comes from an even older half-timbered house; this is particularly evident on the stable gable, where the 18th century wall stands in front of the former half-timbered gable wall. Possibly at the same time as the oldest structure of the residential stable house is the framework of the barn, in which some of the old infills have also been preserved. Later changes are the walling of the barn - which may be due to the preservation of the old substance - as well as the recent replacement of the windows and the loss of the old chimney block in the stable house. The resulting impairments do not negate the monument value.
The courtyard is important for - the history of man because it bears witness to rural life and construction and illustrates its continuity over a period of almost three centuries, - cities and settlements because, together with other monumental buildings in the neighborhood, they are old and The extent of the settlement in its typical location on the edge of a small valley illustrates. There are - scientific reasons for the preservation and use, because the courtyard is a document of the history of the settlement and in its substance a clear example of the rural construction method on the Lower Rhine and its development from 17th to 18th centuries. up to the 20th century, - folkloric reasons, because the courtyard complex, which is still complete in its essential components, is an eloquent and rare testimony to rural life up to the threshold of the 20th century, - urban planning reasons, because the courtyard complex in connection with the neighboring building under monument protection. At Ertekamp 5 there is an unmistakable historical design value for this village-like street. It is therefore certain that there is a public interest in the preservation and use of the monument; the factual requirements of § 2 Paragraph 1 and 2 DSchG are present. |

Residential house, back building, historical garden wall | Niederkrüchten An der Kirche 6 map |
The building at the church 6 is part of the historical development of the church on the church hill in the center of Niederkrüchten. According to local tradition, it was built around 1905 as a residence for a church employee. It is a two-story brick building with a gable roof, to which a one-and-a-half-story rear building is attached. The four-axis-wide facade of the residential building faces the village, its left gable, the back building and the adjoining garden wall accompany the footpath leading up to the church or past it. On the facade of the house, narrow "Deutsches Band" friezes emphasize the storey and eaves lines, while flat corner pilaster strips emphasize the building edges. The upright rectangular segment-arched windows are cut into the wall above window sills, the house entrance in the second axis from the right is additionally accentuated by plaster framing. A shop window was broken into to the left of the entrance in the second half of the 20th century. A wall shell is placed in front of the right gable side, the left gable still shows the original stair-like ascending verge frieze. At the rear, the stairwell emerges as a risalit under a towed roof, the attached farm building with a high jamb and gable roof takes up about half the width of the front building. Today the garden plot includes a part of the former neighboring plot on which there is still an old cellar of a submerged building. Inside the house, the wall-mounted equipment from the construction period has largely been preserved. Through the old front door with a skylight one enters a corridor that runs through to the rear, from which two rooms are accessed on the right and left. The hallway floor and the former kitchen at the back right are laid out with ornamental tiles, the ceiling in the hallway as well as in the two former living rooms on the left is provided with throat and rosette stucco. The wooden doors and walls of the rooms have also been preserved. The slightly wider staircase in the rear half of the building (with stained glass to the rear) is set off by a round arch over pilasters, with original wooden stairs, straight two-lane with turning platform, with turned balusters and candelabra-like entry post. The essentially identical floor plan and the floorboards have been preserved on the upper floor. The building at Church 6 is a residential building with a rear building from the beginning of the 20th century that has largely been preserved on the outside and especially on the inside. The only two noteworthy interventions - the shop window and the front gable wall on the right - are rated as not significant for the tight and clear overall impression. Of particular importance is its urban quality, which results from its location at the foot of the church on the one hand and above the town on the other. It is therefore no coincidence that it is shown again and again on historical photographs and postcards from Niederkrüchten, as part of a row of houses from Mittelstrasse via the former “Brown House” up to the church. Its property boundaries, marked by brick walls, as well as the structure of residential and farm buildings also form concise spatial edges in the structural structure on the church hill, the most important and clear historical building and room ensemble in the town center, the preservation of which could represent an urgent concern of as-built urban development.
For the reasons described, the property at An der Kirche 6 is important for Niederkrüchten. Due to its extremely prominent location and the associated space-defining effect, the maintenance and use of the residential and rear buildings, including the historical garden walls that border the property, are in the public interest for urban planning reasons. There are also scientific, here architectural-historical reasons, because of the clear density of traditional architecture and furnishings from the construction period. The building at the church 6 (residential building, back building, historical garden walls) in Niederkrüchten is a monument within the meaning of § 2 (1) Monument Protection Act NRW. It is important for Niederkrüchten. There is a public interest in its preservation and use for urban planning as well as for scientific, here architectural and historical reasons. |

It is a two-storey brick building with a mezzanine floor from the beginning to the middle of the 19th century. Most of the rooms in the house have Cologne ceilings.
