From 1529 to 1548, Claus von Rottorp expanded the property into a four-wing complex with a moat immediately around the house, a rampart with corner towers and another defensive moat. The property had a strong permanent manning. The Edelhof is the oldest completely preserved castle in the Weser Renaissance style with two stair towers and arcades in the inner courtyard. The roof of the moated castle, which was restored from 1979, is covered with Solling sandstone slabs. 36238349 Hülsede Castle
