The Evangelical Lutheran listed St. Aegidien Church is in Hülsede , a municipality in the Schaumburg district of Lower Saxony . The parish Hülsede belongs to the church circle county foam in Sprengel Hannover of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .

The hall church was built around the turn of the 13th century in Romanesque style and rebuilt in the Gothic style in the middle of the 15th century . The church tower in the west was built in the late Gothic period on the remains of a forerunner from the Romanesque period. There is a small ogival portal on the west side . Next to him is a coat of arms carved in stone from 1506 with the Schaumburger nettle leaf and a so-called Neidkopf . In the south there is a walled-up ogival portal.

Outside space

The nave consists of two yokes . The square choir in the east is slightly drawn in. Both consist of ashlar masonry , the church tower with Romanesque spoilage and foundations, however, of quarry stone masonry . The tower has two floors and ogival biforias as sound arcades . It is covered with a pyramid roof with an eight-sided open lantern on the top . The nave and the choir are covered with gable roofs made of shingles , their walls are supported by buttresses .

The heavily busted , deeply drawn vaults are from the middle of the 15th century. The shield arches , only the western one, is pointed, and the fluted vault ribs begin on consoles . The triumphal arch , which has no fighters , is supported by wall templates , while the belt arches in the nave have fighters and begin on the wall templates. The hall in the tower is spanned with a barrel vault and opened to the nave with a wide belt arch on spiers. Paintings with Old and New Testament scenes are framed in scrollwork in the vaulted caps.

Church furnishings

The wooden altarpiece was made around 1700. It is flanked by Corinthian columns and decorated with acanthus ornaments. In the center there is a canvas picture of the crucifixion of Jesus . In the predella the Lord's Supper is depicted, in the altar extract the resurrection of Jesus Christ . The sacrament house from the beginning of the 16th century has a profiled sandstone frame. The octagonal baptismal font , dated 1671, stands on a slim shaft. It is decorated with winged putti heads, as is the lid, which is still crowned by a figure of God the Father. The dove of the Holy Spirit hovers above it . The gallery in the north stands on wooden supports and was installed in 1574. In the parapets are portraits of the 12 apostles , Paul and Martin Luther painted in arched arcades . To the west is the baroque prieche from 1671 for the landlord. A wooden crucifix is from the end of the 14th century. In the choir is a large epitaph for Claus von Rottorp and his wife , erected in 1587 .
