List of the First Ladies of the Gambia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

First Lady is the official title of the life partner of the head of state of Gambia . Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow has been the First Lady since January 19, 2017 .

Since polygamy (or more precisely: polygyny ) is legal and widespread in Gambia , several heads of government were married several times. Only one spouse then bears the title of First Lady.

Parliamentary monarchy (1965–1970)

Head of government during this period was Dawda Jawara (Prime Minister 1962 to 1963 and Prime Minister from 1963 to 1970).
