The list of Hamburg police presidents - starting in 1916 - lists the people who held the office of police chief in Hamburg . The police chief in Hamburg is a political officer who can be put into temporary retirement by the Hamburg Senate at any time in accordance with Section 37 No. 3 Hamburg Public Officials Act (HmbBG) of December 15, 2009 .

  • Lothar Danner - In May 1945 charged with managing the Hamburg police by order of the British military authorities
  • Bruno Georges - President April 1, 1952 to March 31, 1958.
    Georges had already been a colonel and commander since May 26, 1945, and then since December 15, 1945 "Police Chief" (i.e. the highest-ranking law enforcement officer) of Hamburg.
