List of kings of the 14th dynasty
The list of kings of the 14th Dynasty includes minor kings in the eastern Nile Delta from the Second Intermediate Period . As a rule, nothing is known about them except the throne names and proper names , which are taken from the royal papyrus Turin .
According to the Turin Royal Papyrus, the kings are ranked as follows:
Throne name | Proper name | Position Turin papyrus | comment |
---|---|---|---|
7.? | 1st King of the 14th Dynasty; Name destroyed | ||
Aa-see-Re | Nehesy | 8.1 | 2nd King of the 14th Dynasty; A large number of archaeological finds, especially scarabs and seals , but also steles , a statue and an obelisk , make him the best documented ruler of the 14th dynasty. |

Neb-fau-Re | 8.3 | 4th King of the 14th Dynasty | |

Mer-djefa-Re | 8.5 | 6th King of the 14th Dynasty; he ruled for about three years. By identifying a stele in 1988/89, he is the only king of this dynasty besides Nehesy who is now known through a monument. The stele shows the king accompanied by the "sealer of the Lower Egyptian king and seal chief Reniseneb" before the god Sopdu . | |

In addition to the kings listed here, Jürgen von Beckerath names ten other names from the royal papyrus Turin: Siptah, Seanch, Ef ..., Seth II, Sunu, Hor III., Enibef, Pensetensepet, Cherhimweschepse and Chuhimwe. However, according to a recent study by Kim Ryholt, these names should be deleted, as they are not names of rulers of the 14th Dynasty, but rather mythical kings of ancient times.
