Similar to Portugal, from the Cabinet Carvalho I (1994) onwards, the respective government also names a constitutional government , in Portuguese Governo Constitucional , in order to differentiate it from the governments before the constitutional amendment.
The term of office of the prime minister is given , which begins with their appointment by the president and ends with the constitution of a newly elected Assembleia Nacional or with the execution of the office of the prime minister (e.g. through his resignation ). The cabinet remains in office until a newly formed government takes office.
