Trovoada III cabinet
The Trovoada III cabinet is the 16th government of São Tomé and Príncipes , in Portuguese the XVI Governo Constitucional de São Tomé e Príncipe . It is the third government of the African island state São Tomé and Príncipe formed under Prime Minister Patrice Trovoada , after the previous cabinet made up of MLSTP - PCD and MDFM again suffered heavy losses in the 2014 parliamentary elections and were unable to continue their coalition. It is the first government since the introduction of democracy to remain in office for the entire legislative period, apart from a few personnel changes in autumn 2016.
Thanks to the absolute majority of the Acção Democrática Independente, Trovoada formed an ADI one-party government, which was sworn in in November 2014. In this third Trovoada's cabinet, nine of the 13 ministers were already represented in his previous cabinets.

Justice Minister Roberto Raposo resigned in February 2016 after his allegations became public that the rise in crime rates was due to the incompetence and corruption of the judiciary. Five out of twelve judges examined in this context were forcibly transferred to administrative service in May, but this was revised by the Constitutional Court in April 2017, despite government protests.
As a result of the resignation and as a political signal to save costs, Trovoada reduced its cabinet in October 2016 by amalgamating from 13 to 11 ministries. For example, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights was expanded to include public administration .
