There are depictions of St. Florian at numerous locations in the Hollabrunn district of Lower Austria .

From the 8th century onwards, the saint was mainly considered a patron saint against enemy attacks from the east by the inhabitants of the Enns area and was also patron saint against Prussians and Ruthenians for the people of Poland. As the patron saint against fires, he replaced Saint Florinus and the martyr Laurentius from the 13th century.

Until the 15th century, the cult of St. Florian was mainly carried by monks. During the Baroque period, the art of saints also took on, as numerous representations testify.

Florian , who was canonized in the early Middle Ages , is the patron saint of Poland , Upper Austria and Linz and is also the patron saint of many professions in Austria , such as the fire brigade , bakers , chimney sweeps and beer brewers .
