List of stumbling blocks in Hattingen

The list of stumbling blocks in Hattingen contains all the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Hattingen as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Hattingen. In December 2005, 11 stones were laid at 8 addresses for the first time.

In 2005, the city of Hattingen took part in the Stolperstein project by the artist Günter Demnig. At the initiative of the people of Hattingen, the main and finance committee of the city of Hattingen decided to carry out the project. The laying of the stones took place on December 13, 2005 and June 6, 2014.

The stumbling blocks are used to honor people who lived or worked in Hattingen. Most of the stumbling blocks were laid in front of the last home chosen by the people concerned.
