The Birkach residence on the southern slope of the Kummen may have been built as early as 1579 by the Pappus von Tratzberg family of Feldkirch. The simple renaissance seat with an almost square floor plan was later extended to the west. The rows of windows divided into two by stone or wooden central posts are remarkable.

The chapel of St. Rochus in the Neuburg district was built from 1630 to 1632 after a plague epidemic. In 1750 the chapel was enlarged.

The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1152 in Welf possession and became a Hohenstaufen castle in 1191 and was under the rule of the Thumb von Neuburg family in 1268 . The castle and the manor were sold to Austria in 1363 and were under the administration of bailiffs or via pledges under the counts (1405 counts of Montfort , 1589 counts of Hohenems , 1679 counts of Clary-Aldringen ). The castle was taken out of use in 1744 and demolished in 1769. From 1956, maintenance work was carried out on the castle ruins.

The neo-baroque church was built with the pastor Johann Jakob Flatz in 1905 and the north tower from 1905 to 1907 according to the plans of the architect Albert Rimli .
