A Mühlhof was first mentioned at the site in 1623 , and in 1859 the building was rebuilt for a cotton wool factory. In 1869 the neighboring AG of the kk priv. Harlander cotton spinning and twisting factory acquired the building and expanded its operations with it, a spinning mill was housed. When the spinning mill was relocated to Ochsenburg in 1892, a twisting mill was built at this location, and in 1897 the building in the north was expanded to include a machine house and the south section was added. In 1915 the twisting mill was relocated to a new building, the ground floor was converted into a kitchen and dining room, and later the label printing plant was established.

The office building was built in 1901 by the AG of the kk priv. Harland cotton spinning and twisting factory as a follower house. It originally housed a restoration and is now owned by the city of St. Pölten.
